the cat is home. no vomiting so far. the vet took $350 off my bill, leaving me with only a $83 balance. i almost cried when she told me. apparently a client of the veterinary hospital set up a scholarship fund after her dog died and specified that she wanted the money to be given to elderly people or people with young children who needed help paying for their pet bills. so thank you random good samaritan; you afforded our kitty some much needed medical attention.
and thanks also to whoever invented the jeep wave. it lifts my spirits to have random people grin and shoot their hands up above the roll bars (if the top is down) or out the window and wave in wrangler owner (ergo, unmatched) style.
finally, thank you to the kind couple in line behind me at safeway yesterday who did not huff and puff and make me feel judged when it took the new cashier TWENTY-FIVE minutes to ring up my wic stuff. i was only slightly tempted to explain all over myself and their patience helped me resist.
