sun, snails, and sabina

we've had a busy few days! yesterday r and i took miss p to the boardwalk where she was a maniac for the rides. she wanted to go on all the big rides but of course is way too short. of course i could only go on the ferris wheel and merry-go-round but consoled myself with a corndog and a carmel apple!

yesterday was also my grandma jacquie's birthday and we went out to an elegant french restaurant to celebrate. parker ordered snails when the waiter came by and proceeded to eat every last one in under 5 minutes. the child has a more adult palate than most adults i know!

(clearly thrilled to have her picture taken.)

today parker had to have her school entrance physical so she can start summer school next week (just a three week program, 2 days a week). this was her first time seeing our new ped (sabina) (other than during the interview) and she did wonderfully! i LOVE this doctor. she didn't push parker any further than she was comfortable. for example, parker was scared to stand on the scale so sabina asked me if i'd weighed her recently. when i told her "yes, she weighs between 24 and 25 pounds" she said: "good enough for me!" and that was how the whole appointment went. she's very supportive of our decision to stop vaccines and is the most honest, patient, and calming practitioner that i've ever met. good for parker, good for me! miss p was so proud of herself for not crying at the appointment (first time EVER) and said "i get to go to school now mama!"

(she was rewarded with a chocolate chip cookie, which she enjoyed immensely.)

mr. baby must be going through a major growth spurt or something because i'm looking bigger and bigger every day. he's definately running out of room to flip and roll.
