i woke up today feeling even more terrible than yesterday but we got up early (before 9am) because the broker lady called about health insurance. (on that front, it turns out that i will always be considered "uninsurable" by most insurance companies. she said i'm "lucky" that blue cross will accept me 10 years post-treatment. so for at least the next four years i am stuck with major risk health insurance. oh well.) we went to the pool and r fixed a yummy lunch but i was back in bed by 11.30. he took parker out while i napped and i slept until 1.30 when they got gome. parker seemed ready for her nap so he put her down to nurse. she drained both "boobies" in about 5 minutes and then sat up and puked all over the bedspread. r rocked her to sleep and we slept for another 2 hours.
yesterday mom was kind enough to watch parker so that i could go get my hair cut. i was feeling emotional and ready to shave it but i opted for a nice short (chin length in front, a little shorter in back) professional cut instead. i was ready for a change and i think it looks pretty good. in any case it showcases my finest asset: my neck. *pfffttt* we'll see how far that gets me. and don't pretend you don't know what i'm talking about.
i'm making some good headway on "couples" (though the three of us have been watching dvd's at night in bed. more on that later...). as i suspected it is a very difficult but enjoyable read. there are so very many couples that i've had to make a list of all of them to keep them straight. it doesn't help that many of them are having affairs with each other, so once you have the married people straight you have to get the infidelites straight. ah, the 60's!
r and i watched "super size me" last night (actually parker watched too). wow, if you haven't seen this, you should. the scariest part may not have been how long it takes mcdonald's fries to decompose (they never do) but the commercialism in the food industry. the movie made me happy we have the money/time to cook at home and moreover, the resolve to get rid of our tv. at this point i'm not too concerned about the shows we watched but all the commercials we were exposed to!
