miss p won her first soccer game. it was really cute and mellow. about half the parents were on the field; some of the girls were pretty nervous. ;) i helped guide parker until half time and then ran up and down the sidelines so she could keep an eye on me. but she did it! she chased the ball and even kicked it a few times. i can't say enough positive stuff about the ayso program. a really balanced, fun-focused group.
before and after the game i was over at the high school helping the department head select and organize the anchor papers for wednesday morning. i was the only person there helping ms. a (she was my senior honors english teacher) so we got a chance to visit while we worked for several hours. i asked her about getting my teaching credentials. (she seemed to think that i could do it in a year since i already have my bachelor's degree.) we talked about her blended family. (she's been married for 40 years. she had 3 kids and her husband had 2, all between 4 & 7, when they met. they had one together. 'a real california family!') she was so glad to hear about d and i. anyway, it was a really nice afternoon.
bbl, d's about to get home from denver. :)
