the sore throat has turned into a cough. whereas yesterday i was feeling much better, today not so much. i woke up queasy (and no, i'm not pregnant) and have felt headachey all day long. ugh. it wasn't so terrible that i couldn't brave target alone with parker. lemme tell ya, you have to be brave to go to target on a summer sunday afternoon with a 19 month old. it seems the trick is to carry her in the backpack instead of wrestling with her in the cart. we managed to get some nice leather bins to organize under our desk and a couple of lampshades to replace the ones that were damaged in the pod (so far as i know, the only things). the rest was just cat food, razor cartriges, etc.
so, in less than a month, instead of being at school, i'm gonna be here. precisely, i'm going to be in that nice blue water swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving (?), and playing with parker! while the main reason for the trip is to return grandpa's ashes to his place of birth, i hope to do a lot of sight-seeing too. there are many many ruins on the island of sicily, from all different periods of history. we'll also be visiting the island where my grandma's family is from. ((click on the picture to enlarge it and be jealous.))
have i mentioned how much i hate the end part of unpacking?
