b gave me a (ridiculously heavy 20kg (that's 44 pound kids)) kettlebell some months ago and taught me how to do a proper swing. i ignored it - except for the few times i kicked it on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. then i canceled our ymca membership a few months ago (even at $25 it wasn't worth it, the kids would only last in kid's corner for about 10 mintues, just long enough for me to get warmed up). about a month ago i started looking online for a kettlebell workout and came across this article by lauren brooks. this woman is a mother to an 18 month old and is pregnant with her second child. she's in rockin' shape, no mummy tummy. i decided to do the ten week program she's got in the article. i did wednesday's workout yesterday (with one, sometimes two, 8kg kettlebell) and in all, it took me about 20 minutes. the last time i was this sore was when i ran a marathon. seriously, inner thighs and butt, totally trashed. that's never happened before. :D i'll track my progress. anyone wanna join in?
