friday afternoon maria (my dad's wife) was in an accident on her electric vespa. some guy in a giant suv cut her off and she laid her bike down quite hard. the guy stopped long enough to make sure no one witnessed anything and then left the scene (didn't even check to make sure she was okay). apparently someone called the police and maria was taken to the hospital. she is really sore and has some nasty abrasions (through three layers including leather). the pain medication they gave her made her vomit all day yesterday. positive thoughts appreciated.
buzzkill took the kids for a few hours yesterday up to his parents. we came to another verbal agreement stating that he would have the kids every other weekend for 5 hours (likely less) and on tuesday evenings. except sundays "are kind of hard" (read: he's rather sleep in with miss bk?) so weekend just means saturdays and some fridays, maybe...
ANYway, b and i made a big batch of chocolate, tempered it (gave it a lovely shine), poured several bars, dipped some dried/sugared ginger and un-sulphered apricot, packaged and of course ate some chocolate. we made a couple of flavored bars and also infused some agave. we got a buuuunch done.
oh, but before that we took the kids to the carnival where parker spun herself silly on a teacup ride and then gorged on cotton candy.
