one thing i've missed since having to worry about finances is the ability to grocery shop for local, organic and free range foods. whole foods is outside of my budget at the moment. *waa* i've been forced to take a closer look at safeway and acutally, i've been pleasantly surprised at what i've found. their organic line is expanding like crazy and for the most part is really affordable. our local safeway carries whole organic chickens even.
yesterday when looking in the deli section i found that hormel makes an all natural line of deli meats and uncured bacon, with NO preservatives, nitrates or nitrites. good price too. we bought some of deli turkey meat and it was purty good! yay for mainstream companies offering healthy choices for conscientious customers. and incidentally, hormel seems to be quite the contributor to the dnc. ;o)
