this has been a weekend of birthdays. amanda's 23 is today (the 6th, also happens to be my half birthday) and mom's 50th is tomorrow (the 7th). last night we went to a place where they cook the food on your table for amanda's birthday. parker, as usual, was completely unimpressed! in any case, all the adults had a great time and afterwards we went out to "the row." tonight we went to a nice restaurant with a private room for mom's birthday. p was more impressed with that because r ordered escargot...the child even ate the truffle out of my chocolate-tini.
hmm, other than that this weekend we did a little unpacking, put down the oak between the tile and carpet (pictures coming i swear!) and had lunch with evan. not much else. tomorrow we're having brunch at my grandparent's house.

uh, i finished "henry and june" and i'll add quotes tomorrow. overall a fantastically written book, not terribly uplifting, and this time, i enjoyed the whole better than the parts...more to come.
