sounds spooky, doesn't it? well, it is. the insurance that r, parker and i currently have (through the university) is going to expire in september. we have LOVED this insurance. it is cheap (less than $1000 person/year); it has covered all my cancer expenses and ob expenses no problem; i rarely have to deal with it. but now that we've graduated we have to move on, on to the big bad world of actual commercial insurance-dom. this sucks the big one.

we checked into insurance through r's work which was going to cost us $475/two week pay period! yes, you read correctly, more than r's hourly wage would even cover. that means that instead of getting a paycheck every two weeks he would actually be writing a check TO his work to cover the cost of our shitty insurance! no thanks...

unfortunately, i can't have just any run of the mill insurance coverage because my bills from the hospital for my continued cancer follow ups, etc. would be outrageous if we had to pay them out of pocket. no hmo's for me at least...parker and r may be another story.

if anyone has any brilliant ideas let me know!

in other news, we had a crappy, overpriced lunch this afternoon at a seafood restaurant where parker ate french fries, shrimp, oyster crackers, shrimp, clam chowder, baby shrimp, and more shrimp. she finished up with an obscene amount of chocolate cream pie (i told you she was obsessed).
